|
Trent has led and contributed to a number of EMC’s consulting projects and continues to act as an advisor on most of the firm’s client work. He has led analysis on market entry strategies and project feasibility studies in the Cambodian healthcare, telecoms and commercial real estate sectors and continues to provide inputs on most of EMC’s business consulting projects. In the private sector development arena, Trent seeks to adapt classic business analytical tools to better understand and improve upon the overall investment climate, as well as to inform government policy, development partner programme design and private sector support strategies. He has worked on trade facilitation reform strategy as input to the first World Bank Investment Climate Assessment for Cambodia and on a number of subsequent trade facilitation reform and diagnostic activities, also expanding the firm’s work into trade promotion activities (such as EMAF) and from trade into investment promotion. Trent currently supports major business development efforts for EMC and builds the firm’s relationships with partners. He advises on analytical approaches in each project, particularly focusing on developing the EMC team's core analytical capabilities and adoption of the business consulting toolkit. In his role on the management team, he focuses his energy on company strategy, expansion initiatives and the development of new projects. He also leads the firm’s compliance and corporate development activities. Trent divides his time between consulting and the group’s Cambodia-Laos focused private equity Fund. Trent has been consulting on business and the private sector in Cambodia since 2000, both within EMC’s business activities and those of his former firm - which spanned traditional business consulting, human resource development and market research activities. Prior to that, Trent’s consulting work at Bain & Company covered engagements in Australia, South Africa and London where he served clients in the airline, telecommunications, financial services, private equity, defence and government sectors, among others. Trent holds a MA in Economics from Cambridge University, and a MSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics. He maintains particular interest in the role of the professional services sector in developing country entrepreneurialism and PSD initiatives. He holds an Australian Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training. Trent is an Australian national. |
| Foreign Investor Perceptions Survey: EMC was asked by the World Bank to conduct a survey of foreign investor perceptions. This project surveyed 108 foreign companies to provide insights into investors’ experiences and perceptions of the investment climate and opportunities in the country. The results will be used for improving the overall investment climate, for attracting further investment and stimulating business growth in Cambodia. |
