Xaybandith joined EMC in 2008, sharing overall responsibility for the firm’s successful growth and operations, especially for EMC Laos.

Prior to joining EMC, Xaybandith devoted substantial energy to support the commercial activities of SMEs as they seek to become profitable and sustainable, particularly through a range of projects with the Lao-based consulting firm of which he was CEO - Champa Lao Development Consulting specialized in commerce, development, investment, management, training, marketing and technology promotion. The firm implemented key projects in support of agribusiness development, productivity and management training, matching local and overseas partners, and the introduction of ICT into private and government/donor offices.

In addition, Xaybandith has supported foreign direct investment into Lao PDR, building local businesses and assisting in merger and acquisition transactions in the country. In particular, he helped SNC-Lavalin launch operations in Lao PDR, was engaged in the set-up of Cosmo Hotel and Entertainment Group and was involved in Core banking system implementation at the Agricultural Promotion Bank (APB). He has also provided strategic consulting on information technology in the financial services and government sectors, namely Tax Department, Ministry of Finance. Lately, he has contributed to the establishment of three foreign companies in the Savannakhet Special Economic Zone (SEZA).

Xaybandith was previously the Managing Director and Owner of Champa Lao Garment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. an apparel manufacturing company specializing in producing trousers, pants, shorts and women’s items for export mainly to the EU.  
Xaybandith is one of the Board members of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI). He is also the Executive Secretary General of the Association of the Lao Garment Industry (ALGI), Board Member of the Lao ICT Commerce Association (LICA) and Member of the Lao Consulting Company Association (LACCA).

Xaybandith holds a Ph.D. from the University of Concordia, Canada and an M.Sc. from the Université du Québec à Montréal. A Lao national and serial entrepreneur, he performs a leadership role and maintains business interests in the garment, agriculture and in the information and communication technology sectors. Xaybandith is fluent in French, English, Russian and Thai.
