Emerging Markets

Monisophorn joined the Emerging Markets Investments EMI team in August 2011 as an Investment Officer. Her main responsibilities encompass business and financial due diligence, including market/sector research and analysis, financial modelling, and operational assessment. Working with EMI Directors, she also helps develop deal structures and term sheets for potential CLDF investees. Monisophorn also provides support to CLDF investees across a full range of business functions, including business strategy development, marketing, financial management, and participating on the Board of Directors of selected investees.

Prior to joining EMI, Monisophorn was a Senior Consultant/Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers (Cambodia). Within the firm’s Advisory Practice, she worked closely with the regional offices’ teams on financial due diligence and valuations on a number of M&A projects in sectors such as telco, agriculture, banking and real estate.

Monisophorn spent two years as an Associate with Frontier Investment and Development Partners (FIDP). She mainly worked on pipeline development, financial and business due diligence, as well as supporting fund-raising efforts. Her work covered the agriculture, infrastructure, construction, tourism, finance and banking sectors. She starter her career in investment management at Lehman Brothers’ Private Investment Management, where she interned as a Summer Associate, while completing her MBA. She was part of a team working on improving the firm’s private equity asset allocation platform and evaluation of portfolio managers’ performance. She was also tasked with research projects on Sovereign Wealth Funds and Clean Energy Funds.

Monisophorn earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the Royal University of Law and Economics in 2005 and Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the Institute of Foreign Languages in 2006. She then received her MBA in International Finance from Brandeis International Business School (Brandeis IBS) in the US, under the Fulbright Scholarship Program in 2008.
