Ms. Khampao Nanthavong – Senior Analyst

khampao-finalKhampao joined EMC in December 2010 as a Senior Analyst based in EMC’s Lao Office.Β  Since then, she has joined the team analysing rice and coffee sector value chains for a World Bank/IFC project, especially focusing on analysing the costs of exporting financial and market access of the agribusiness sector and development of investment strategies.

Prior to joining EMC, Khampao worked for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Resident Representative Office in Laos as an Economist, where she liaised closely with financial institutions and government agencies. She was actively involved in the country’s annual macroeconomic assessment, focusing on financial sector development, exchange rate movement monitoring, government budget assessment and business environmental analysis. Apart from technical work, Khampao supported the Office’s operations and coordination with stakeholders.

Khampao also brings experience in delivering training courses and lecturing on economics, international economics and statistics for government officials, as part of a GTZ project.

Khampao holds a Masters Decree in Development Economics from the Australian National University.
