Mr. Chiek Chansamphors – Consultant

From a background in Business and Economics, Samphors became an EMC Consultant with responsibilities for analyzing and managing individual project work-streams as well as joining the business development team for EMC Cambodia.

At EMC, Samphors has worked on numerous projects including a research study in community based microfinance, developing national industry strategy (specifically in the swine sector)and producing sector investment profiles to promote investment in Cambodia.

Prior to EMC, Samphors was the business development manager for a HR consulting company. He was responsible for developing business initiatives and oversaw the internal processes of the company. His resume also includes work for two multinational companies - Caltex Cambodia Limited and Nestle Dairy (Cambodia) Ltd. Samphors started his career at Nestle Dairy (Cambodia) Ltd. in early 2000, responsible for inventory control in the accounting department. Soon after, he was promoted to be an accountant and take charge of costing for the company. He then resumed his accounting profession at Caltex Cambodia Limited in late 2002. At Caltex, Samphors handled many positions in Accounting, Finance and the Marketing Department. His areas of focus at Caltex were cost accounting, management reporting accounting, credit analyst and Commercial and Business Consulting prior to his departure to Japan.

Samphors is a Japan Development Scholarship (JDS) returnee. He holds a master degree in International Cooperation Policy specialized in Development Economics from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (Japan). Samphors is a Cambodian national.
